Tapet-Cafe
Turnell & Gigon are delighted to be distributing Tapet-Café in the UK, the Private Collection will be launched at Focus.

TAPET-CAFE founded in 1974 in Denmark is a family business, run by Jannik and Helene Martensen-Larsen, a husband and wife team. Essentially interior designers, they have worked on many interesting VIP design projects, and in 2007 they received the Royal Warrant and become appointed by the Queen of Denmark.

Their dream to launch their own collection of wallpapers came true with the launch of The Private Collection of wallpapers designed by Helene who graduated with a first class degree from St Martins in 2002.

The wallpapers are standard roll sizes 10 metres x 52cm and are non woven which makes them very easy to hang as the wall is pasted rather than the paper. All the papers are hand drawn except for Stilleben and are surface printed.

Madeleine Castaing's collection
Madeleine Castaing (1894-1992), was a Parisian Interior Designer and Antiquarian, who revolutionised the world of decoration. Her inspiration came from the XIXth century neoclassical and empire styles, mixing and matching - in total contradiction to the fashion of her era. "Create poetry with furniture" was her motto and she was friends with many artists : Soutine, Marcel Proust, Chagall, Picasso ... she decorated the house of Jean Cocteau.

In celebration of the launch of Emily Evans Eerdmans' book The World of Madeleine Castaing, Edmond Petit has just launched three fresh original colourways of Madeleine's signature fabric Lola Montez.

Neisha Crosland Wallpapers 7
At Design Week we will be launching the new Neisha Crosland wallpaper collection Wallpapers 7. Wallpapers 7 features a series of six geometrics designs and two large florals in 6-7 colour ways each, offering a generous mixture of scale, pattern and well co-ordinated colouring.

Colours are inspired by the bright, gold tipped Sobranie cocktail cigarettes, one of Neisha's earliest memories, confectionary coloured enamel swedish match boxes, little espresso coffee spoons belonging to her grandmother and the painted walls and plasterwork of Robert Adam.

The Geometrics are inspired by North African/Moroccan tiles, Fez pots, basket weaves, Moorish architecture and decorative details of tadelakt(polished plasterwork) and Zellij (mosaic). The two large scale florals take influence from 1920's Paul Poiret embroidery, Jacobean paisley work and the Indian Tree of Life.

The collection is really practical, designed to cross co-ordinate, offering up many combinations and schemes, from grand to simple, from one wall to four...and some for celings too! The geometrics also co-ordinate back across existing collections.
