The Art of Passementerie
One of the only remaining factories now left in France, Les Passementeries de l'Isle de France have been producing braids, tiebacks, jasmines, cut fringes amongst many other specialist trimmings, since 1926. Their trimmings have graced some of the finest palaces, grand houses and theatres in Europe.
Four generations later, this family run business is still thriving with many of techniques, used back in 1926, remaining unchanged - with hand cut fringes and hand spun cord lengths, these traditional methods help conserve the authenticity and intricacies for which Les Passementeries de l'Isle de France have now become renowned for.
With an extensive archive of the most exquisite and intricate trimmings, Les Passementeries de l'Isle de France's craftsmanship has passed on from generation to generation meaning the art of passementeries continues. Turnell & Gigon are proud to distribute this long standing craft, giving our clients the opportunity to include trimmings from the standard collections as well beautifully bespoke items which will stand the rest of time.
